Job Title: Superintendent II - Commercial Interior ConstructionJob Description We are seeking a Superintendent II to oversee commercial interior construction projects in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. This role is pivotal in managing daily field operations, ensuring that projects are completed safely, timely, and to the highest standards of quality. Responsibilities + Oversee daily field operations of complex projects, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. + Manage trade partner teams, solving field challenges in real time. + Maintain excellent communication with clients, design partners, and internal project teams. + Mentor less experienced field staff and promote a culture of safety and professionalism. + Participate in kickoff meetings to understand project goals and team dynamics. + Host field kickoff meetings with all trade partners and project managers. + Manage relationships between site and building management/owners. + Participate in project closeout meetings and provide feedback on trade partners. + Review construction documents and drawings to understand critical path items. + Set up sites with appropriate branding, safety, and wayfinding signage. + Create and manage project schedules using Outbuild, including 3-week lookaheads. + Track labor and general requirements allocation with project managers. + Manage site logistics, deliveries, and progress documentation. + Host weekly toolbox talks and foreman meetings to discuss project progress. + Ensure on-site safety controls with guidance from the Safety Director. + Manage safety training and documentation, including first responder steps. Essential Skills + 10 years of experience as a commercial interior Superintendent. + Proven ability to manage highly detailed corporate interior projects. + Experience with high-rise commercial tenant improvement work. + Professional communication skills with project partners and clients. + Experience with Procore as 90% of work is conducted through this platform. + Ability to provide mentorship and support to junior team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in hospitality, retail, healthcare, life and lab sciences, or industrial is a plus. + Ability to identify and resolve potential issues during preconstruction and early project stages. + Comfortable with pitching and interviewing for new client work. Work Environment The position is based in our Chicago office, with work conducted both in the office and on job sites locally around Chicago. Employees are expected to be on-site five days a week. Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate, and parking is covered within four partnered garages in the downtown area. Senior superintendents receive an AmEx and Home Depot card. We provide a company Lyft account and reimburse Metra/CTA passes. Employees are required to use their own vehicles. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL.
