Job Description

Rye Country Day School is seeking a Head Varsity Cross Country Coach beginning August 18, 2025 (pre-season). Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, Prek-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. Specific responsibilities of the position include: 

• Effectively planning and organizing both practices and meet calendars
• Teaching and training a co-ed team comprised of beginner through advanced level cross country athletes
• Creating an inclusive, exciting, and challenging environment each day
• Collaborating with the assistant coaches in planning and communication
• Maintaining a safe environment at all times
• Communicating with athletes, parents, coaches, and opponents in a professional manner

Desired qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-years successful coaching experience with adolescents in this age group
• A passion for athletic competition and the ability to motivate and inspire athletes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive school community
• Energetic and enthusiastic, flexible and patient

Salary range: $4,000 - $5,000 depending on level of play and coaching experience
