Amazon Web Services (AWS) are seeking Logistics Transportation Specialists as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location. Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings in 2025. Trainees will participate in our 12-month work and training program in our Northern Virginia facilities.

All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations:

•Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed

•Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

Key job responsibilities
• Delivers inventory between warehouse and data center locations utilizing Sprinter Van

• Completes and documents thorough pre-trip vehicle inspections

• Travels between multiple sites within the same geographical region using personal vehicle as required

• Operates material handling equipment safely and efficiently (including forklift operations)

• Monitors and responds to transportation tracking systems

• Maintains accurate data entry in inventory management systems

• Validates and ensures accuracy of supply chain billing documentation

• Supports daily logistics scheduling for inventory movement between locations

• Maintains clean and organized work environment following 5S standards

• Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams

• Supports partner team operations including customer request fulfillment, inventory receiving, reverse logistics, and cycle counting functions

A day in the life
The Logistics Transportation Specialist transports inventory from location to location, reviews delivery ticket queues, and ongoing demand to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained in all locations to support build and repair activities. Working with the Logistics Manager, they create plans to optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle; tracking inventory location, movement, age, and turns. Regular and ongoing communications with peers and leadership to resolve issues and help them understand our business requirements necessitates a high-level communicator.

The Logistics Transportation Specialist is responsible for accurate data entry and resolving questions from peer organizations. Responsibilities include manual tasks, such as assembling, addressing, stamping and arranging for the delivery of merchandise and materials. They assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from production locations.

The Logistics Transportation Specialist is expected to understand all aspects of production, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain very high quality, and be willing and able to work on powered equipment (i.e forklift or cherry picker).
