Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance (QA) Tester to ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality software products. This role requires strong manual testing skills, clear documentation practices, and close collaboration with developers and product stakeholders. This position is not fully remote and requires regular on-site or hybrid presence in Huntersville, NC. Local candidates within commuting distance are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Execute manual functional, regression, and exploratory testing
Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for clarity and testability
Create, maintain, and execute test cases and test plans
Identify, document, track, and validate software defects using issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Verify defect fixes and validate releases prior to deployment
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and documentation
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on software QA or testing experience
Experience testing web-based applications
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle
Ability to write clear, thorough test cases and defect reports
Experience using bug tracking or test management tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work on-site or hybrid in Huntersville, NC
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman
Basic SQL skills for data validation
Familiarity with test automation concepts
Experience supporting delivery in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments
QA certifications such as ISTQB
