Job Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for capturing high-quality, engaging portraits of preschool-aged children in a safe, friendly, and efficient manner. Works with school staff to coordinate Picture Day activities, ensure smooth operations, and deliver an exceptional photography experience for children and families. Work days are Monday-Friday early mornings till mid afternoon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to assigned preschools/childcares within the state of Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania or other areas and must be willing to travel to other states if necessary, for Picture Days. May require hotel stays. All travel is paid for.
- Set up portable studio equipment, including cameras, lighting, and backdrops, in a safe and organized manner.
- Photograph individual children, siblings, and class groups, capturing natural expressions and appropriate poses.
- Engage positively with young children to help them feel comfortable and cooperative during sessions.
- Collaborate with school administrators and staff to manage student flow and maintain schedules.
- Ensure accuracy in recording student names, class information, and other order details.
- Maintain and troubleshoot camera and lighting equipment as needed.
- Handle image uploads and backups in accordance with company protocols.
- Adhere to child safety and privacy guidelines at all times.
- Represent the company professionally to both school staff and families.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in portrait or school photography preferred.
- Comfortable working with children ages infants to 6 years old in group and individual settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of DSLR camera operation, lighting, and posing.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various locations.
- Ability to lift and transport photography equipment (up to 40 lbs).
Work Environment:
- On-site at schools and child care facilities. Must be ok with working in loud and busy environments.
- Frequent standing, bending, and moving equipment.
- Flexible schedule based on Picture Day assignments.
