School Nurse (RN) – Elementary | Illinois

Our Organization is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse (RN) to support an elementary school community in Illinois for the remainder of the school year. This full-time, on-site position serves students in grades K–5 and plays a vital role in promoting student health, safety, and academic success.
As the School Nurse, you will provide daily health services, manage student medical needs, and collaborate closely with school staff, families, and related service providers. You will support students with IEPs and 504 plans, ensure compliance with health regulations, and help maintain a safe, healthy learning environment for all students.
Position Details:
This is an in-person role with a 40-hour workweek, including a paid 30-minute lunch. The nurse will support an estimated caseload of approximately 150 students with IEPs and 504 plans. The position is available immediately and runs through the end of the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will assess and respond to student health concerns, administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and maintain accurate health records in accordance with district and state guidelines. Additional duties include monitoring students with chronic health conditions, supporting attendance and wellness initiatives, conducting health screenings as assigned, and collaborating with administrators, teachers, and families to address student health needs.
Applicants must hold a current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license and a Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement. BLS CPR/AED certification is required. Hearing and vision screening certification is preferred but not required.
