Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Charge Nurse)

Location: San Francisco, CA—?94143 - UCSF Health Medical Center at Parnassus
Start Date – End Date: August 5, 2025 – November 1, 2025 (Updated upon hire)
Position Type: Travel Nurse Assignment/Local
Patient Ratio: 1:1
Shift : Nights, 3x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30)
Pay Rate : $65–$70 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our surgical team in a prestigious teaching hospital located in San Francisco, CA (zip code 94143) . This is a travel nursing assignment offering exposure to high-acuity cases across diverse specialties. The ideal candidate is a confident clinical leader, adept at both scrub and circulate roles, and capable of serving as Charge RN as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• License: Active California RN License (Required)

• Certifications:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)

  • ACLS (Preferred)

  • CNOR (Preferred)

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years RN experience

  • Minimum 3 years Operating Room (OR) experience (Required)

  • Travel nursing experience (Required)

  • Previous Charge RN experience (Required)

  • Experience in a teaching hospital (Required)

• Charting System: Epic (Required)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scrub and circulate duties across a wide range of specialties

• Serve as Charge RN during designated shifts, providing leadership and coordination

• Ensure compliance with infection control , radiation and laser safety , and emergency protocols

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic

• Provide one-to-one patient care during surgical procedures

• Utilize specialized equipment: Da Vinci Si/Xi robotics , electrosurgical units, Steris systems, and Cell Savers

• Safely handle specimens and administer blood products as required

Neurology: ALIF, Craniotomy, VP Shunt, XLIF, Laminectomy
Vascular: AAA Repair, Carotid Endarterectomy, TEVAR, AV Fistula
Cardiovascular: CABG, ECMO, TAVR, MAZE, LVAD implantation, Valve Replacements
General Surgery: Appendectomy, Whipple, Thyroidectomy, Colon Resection
Gynecology: Hysterectomy, D&C, Laparoscopy, Abortion Procedures
Urology: Cystoscopy, Robotic Urology
Endoscopy: EGD, Colonoscopy, Bronchoscopy
ENT: Laryngectomy, Neck Dissections, Tracheostomy, Tonsillectomy
Plastics & Bariatrics: Free Flap reconstruction, Gastric Bypass, Sleeve Gastrectomy, Lap Band
Transplant: Kidney, Liver, Pancreas, Lung
