Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, including exams and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks such as clerical duties, answering phones, and maintaining the physicians' schedule.
Responsibilities
+ Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
+ Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
+ Obtain all necessary patient records as required by the physician prior to treatment or procedures.
+ Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
+ Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
+ Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician.
+ Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
+ Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
+ Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
+ Inform physician of patient reschedules and no-shows.
+ Perform other administrative duties, such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception, as requested by a supervisor or physician.
Essential Skills
+ Rooming patients and patient care.
+ Current CPR Certification is required.
+ 1-3 years of experience in a patient care setting preferred, oncology experience helpful.
Qualifications (Need at least ONE of the below)
+ Diploma or equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
+ Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
+ Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with 1-year direct care experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnsville, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
