Dental Assistant Job Description We are seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team to support one of Santa Barbara leading healthcare organizations. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced clinic setting with adults, focusing on dental assisting duties. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to thrive in a dynamic environment. Requirements + Ability to work 8:00am-5:00pm + Fluency in Spanish + Entry level welcome! As long as you have some experience in the medical field. Responsibilities + Provide patient care in a clinical setting + Document patient interactions and medical procedures accurately + Take and record patient vitals + Room patients and prepare them for examinations + Prepare treatment room for patient + Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth. + Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts + Expose dental diagnostic x-rays + Ensure the health history is updated + Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions. + Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; call for repairs, when necessary + Fabricates temporary restorations or custom impressions from preliminary impressions. + Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts. Essential Skills + Proficiency in medical documentation + Experience with taking patient vitals + Experience in rooming patients Must be able to work full time hours M-F and rotating Saturdays Pay: $21/hr. (pays up to $24/hr. if you have an X-ray Certification) Work Environment + You will be working in a fast-paced clinic environment. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The clinic provides a supportive atmosphere for both patients and staff. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
