Industrial DesignerJob Description We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Industrial Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming concepts into physical models and prototypes that support product development and client presentations. You will work closely with engineers and design teams to ensure models meet functional and aesthetic requirements. Key Responsibilities + Interpret CAD files, technical drawings, and sketches to develop accurate 3D models and prototypes. + Select appropriate materials based on design and functional requirements. + Construct detailed scale models using a variety of tools and fabrication techniques. + Apply finishing techniques such as painting, sanding, and detailing to enhance model presentation. + Operate hand tools and machinery including saws, lathes, milling machines, CNC machines, and 3D printers. + Inspect and refine models to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align models with design intent and project goals. + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. + Ensure timely delivery of models for presentations, reviews, and client meetings. + Make adjustments and repairs to models as needed throughout the design process. Qualifications + Proven experience in industrial design or model making. + Proficiency in CAD software, especially SolidWorks. + Skilled in using hand tools and working with materials such as plastics, metals, and composites. + Knowledge of fabrication techniques including molding, casting, and 3D printing. + Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination. + Effective communication and collaboration skills. + Degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred. + Experience with rapid prototyping and digital fabrication technologies is a plus. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
