A day in the life

You’ll spend most of your day at the bench diagnosing and repairing entry‑level electronic equipment down to the component level. You’ll complete and document the development of tests for entry‑level electronic assemblies, keep fixtures maintained, and handle required service report paperwork under direct supervision as part of your training. From time to time, you’ll communicate with customers as needed to clarify issues or share updates. Along the way, you’ll build your technical skills through on‑the‑job training, technical projects, and hands‑on assignments. You’ll participate in the ATS Culture Initiative, continually improve processes, quantitatively monitor results, complete required quality core classes, apply our Core Values, and follow company and customer safety procedures.

What you will do

• Repair entry‑level equipment at the component level.
• Complete and document test development for entry‑level electronic assemblies.
• Maintain fixtures.
• Process required service report paperwork under direct supervision as part of training and development.
• Occasionally communicate with customers as needed.
• Engage in on‑the‑job technical training, projects, and assignments to expand your skills.
• Participate in the ATS Culture Initiative; drive continuous improvement and quantitative process monitoring; complete required quality core classes; use Core Values; adhere to company/customer safety procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Experience (one of the following):

• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or
• Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Core abilities:

• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Calculate discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply basic algebra, physics, and geometry.
• Apply common‑sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical demands and working conditions

• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to use close vision and color vision.
• Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
• Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, you may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
