Join the
UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory as an Assay Chemist! In this role, you will
be responsible for conducting chemistry assays to identify steroids, masking
agents, and other substances in urine specimens. You will also assist with
maintaining sample tracking records, instrument upkeep, entering specimen
information into a computer database, and performing advanced chemistry across
various laboratory operations.

The UCLA
Olympic Analytical Laboratory is one of the world's largest World Anti-Doping
Agency (WADA)-accredited sports drug-testing facility and one of the leading
research institutions in the field of athletic doping. Founded in 1982 by a
grant from the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, the UCLA facility was
the first U.S. laboratory accredited by the International Olympic Committee.
Salary Range: $28.88 - $46.46/hour
Qualifications
* Knowledge of a variety of organic, biochemical, and analytical chemistry techniques, including chemical derivatization, ether extraction, centrifugation, solvent stripping, ion exchange chromatography, enzymatic deconjugation, and chemistry extraction.* General knowledge of chemistry principles.* Ability to use analytical balances, manual and electronic pipetting devices, and a pH meter - preferred.* Ability to carefully follow on a repeated basis, lengthy, detailed, and precise oral and written operating procedures focusing on sample preparation techniques of all types.
