LTC Language Solutions is looking for skilled, freelance, contract American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter in the Chicago, IL area.
Here is what you get to do:
- Provide high-quality, in-person sign language interpretation at various client locations in and around Chicago, Illinois . Opportunity for virtual assignments as well.
- Accurately interpret in various medical and community settings.
- Ensure language access is provided.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Choose your own assignments for interpretation.
- Strong understanding of sign language and Deaf culture.
Requirements
- Interpreting certifications, preferred
- Minimum of 2 years medical interpreting experience preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years of interpreting experience required
- Ability to keep accurate records
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in American Sign Language (preferred)
- 2+ years of ASL interpreting experience
- Passionate about providing language access
- NIC certification or higher (preferred)
- Follow RID Interpreter Code of Ethics
- Comply with all state, local, and federal laws and regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality of medical information, including HIPAA.
This is a 1099, contract, freelance sign language interpreter position. You will work as needed and choose your own assignments.
